INFORMATION WE COLLECT In the regular course of business, Omaha Police Federal Credit Union will collect nonpublic personal information about our members. Nonpublic personal information is information about our members that we obtain in order to provide them with competitive financial products and services. Such information includes for example member's names, addresses, social security numbers, income, account balances, payment history, credit card usage, credit worthiness and credit history, as well as the parties to their transactions. We may collect nonpublic personal information about our members from the following sources:
- Information that our members provide to us, such as on applications or other forms
- Information about member transactions with us, our affiliates or others, or
- Information from others, such as credit bureaus, real estate appraisers, and employers.
INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE We do not share the nonpublic information of our current or previous members and nonmember customers except as permitted by law. From time to time, we may disclose all the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. To protect the privacy of our members, we will only partner with businesses that follow strict confidentiality requirements. These third parties must agree to strict confidentiality provisions to assure the protection of our members' information, and we do not authorize these firms to use any information provided to them about our members accounts without the member's express consent.
We may also disclose information we collect about our members under other circumstances as permitted or required by law, such as to process transactions on their behalf, to conduct the operations of the Credit Union, to follow our members' instructions as they authorize, or to protect the security of our financial records.
HOW WE PROTECT MEMBER INFORMATION We restrict access to nonpublic information about our members to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing our members' data. Our employees are educated about the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural standards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard our members' nonpublic personal information. These safeguards are routinely tested to verify integrity.
